I have been lucky enough to gain some amazing friends while living in Nashville. One of these fantastic friends is Jessica Craven. Jess was one of my many roommates in Shelbyhouse. She is a student at Belmont University and a singer/songwriter. You can check her music out HERE. Jess bought tickets for her and me to see the stunning Kacey Musgraves in Atlanta at State Farm Arena for Christmas.
Kacey Musgraves released her much-anticipated album, star-crossed, on September 10, 2021. Musgraves’s album focuses on heartbreak, which isn’t surprising after her divorce from Ruston Kelly. In January, she set out on a 15 date tour to perform in some of the biggest arenas across the country. The stage was literally a heart, a heart was set on fire, and she threw back a tequila shot like it was nothing. On top of songs from her current album, she sang some of the favorites from Golden Hour and an extraordinary song from her first album, “Merry Go Round.” The crowd also got to participate in a round of Kacey-oke, and one lucky fan got to choose from the songs “9 to 5,” “Killing Me Softly,” “Dreams,” and “No Scrubs.” The fan, Garrett, chose the song “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac.
The concert was terrific, but the time I got to spend with my sweet friend was even better. We drove down to Atlanta the morning of the concert to have some time to explore. Before the show, we grabbed Espresso Martinis at McCormick & Schmick’s and ate dinner at Thrive. The trip was quick, but it was full of fun. I can’t wait until the next girl’s trip!
